To help users understand this impact, we added a new feature in Visual Studio to notify users of slow extensions. Sometimes, Visual Studio detects a new extension that slows down either solution load or startup. When a slowdown is detected, users will see a notification in the IDE pointing them to new 'Manage Visual Studio Performance' dialog.
- The solution is to update to Trend Micro Antivirus+ 2017, as explained in their web page Getting stuck on Windows Startup Repair after updating Trend Micro Security. I could only recover it going back to a restore point. Visual Studio 2015 got an inconsistent state as a result. So I uninstalled it.
- Same issue here, Visual Studio 2015 Pro Update 2 on a brand new machine. The editor was extremely slow, typing like chewing gum. The reason was ESET NOD32 Antivirus 9. It has a thing called 'Host Intruder Prevention System (HIPS)' enabled by default.

Hi kashifdotnet,
try to check that you have enough space left on a disk after installing the VS 2012 and 2015.
if the space is low then try to remove the unnecessary files and create some space there to improve the performance.
also make sure that you are not accessing the same project at a same time with running VS 2012 and VS 2015 together.
if you are using multiple applications at the same time then I suggest you to close the unnecessary applications.
try to remove the recent projects from the visual studio.
if performance dropped after installing the another visual studio then I suggest you to remove one visual studio from the machine and try to make a test.
in vs 2015 , you can try to disables things mentioned below.
- Go to Tools -> Options -> Text Editor -> C# -> Advanced and uncheck Enable full solution analysis
Go to Tools -> Options -> XAML Designer -> General and uncheck Enable XAML Designer (requires restart of Visual Studio)
Go to Tools -> Options -> Text Editor -> All Languages and uncheck Enable CodeLens
Go to Tools -> Options -> Debugging -> General and disable Enable Diagnostic Tools while debugging
